I have had such back and forth with this place but I have decided that I do really like this place. I think couple of the times I've had poor experiences is due to catching them at a bad time and we all have our moments. Most of the time, this place has been consistent and good. I don't get sushi here, I am here for the ramen and those cheesey curry fries! They let you switch the broth and even offer smaller bowls! I also love that their ramen prices aren't insanely high.

My son and I were looking for sushi kinda lat and found Tycoon open and tried it out. Small place, not that art deco but tables, and a long sushi bar which is what I like.
We opted for some nigiri, tuna wrap, and my son had a ramen bowl, which was quite large. It took a while to get it and the place was laid out a bit to all traffic through tended to bump us or the table which as a bit annoying, but again, small corner place. The Sushi was good. We were in a hurry, the roll was a bit rich so I took the tuna wrap back to the house. I would come back here based on proximity to where i stay when in town but prefer more upscale, crowded, "inviting" atmosphere . For those in need of a sushi fix, I certainly can recommend . -

Gave Tycoon a try using DoorDash. Delivery came on time and food was piping hot...off to a good start!
Ordered the tonkatsu and seared chicken ramens. Tonkatsu broth had a good pork flavor. I would prefer the broth be a little thicker with the collagen richness of a good pork broth so it coats the noodles. Good amount of Charsu, not the most tender but still good. Soft boil egg was cooked to a firm soft set and had a faint sweetness to it. Noodles had a good chew to them but pushing the limits of acceptable al dente; broth is packed separately for take out so the noodles were slightly stuck together. They broke up fine with the broth. Seared chicken had no complaints from my son.
Tonkatsu ramen was $15, on the pricier side; however, if the craving hits, I would happily order again. -

Ordered the standard tonkatsu ramen & it was genuinely awful. A suspicious amount of oil & char (ash?) plus defrosted corn was the dominant flavor of the broth. Everything in that ramen was off, maybe the sushi is good, but that was my experience.

Pork Ramen with a spicy tuna roll. A perfect breakfast for cool weather after a long walk. Everything was fast and fresh.
